Marita leads a double life: that of a dedicated music teacher by day and a passionate singer/songwriter by night (or any other time she's not working). Raised by music-obsessed parents, Marita begain taking formal piano lessons at the age of 11, and began voice training in her teens. She completed a degree in music in University College Dublin, which exposed her to many different styles of music and composers she'd never encountered before. This eclectic range of musical influences has helped to shape her music into the unique sound that it is. With her unusual choice of chord progressions and lyrical melodies (I haven't even got round to talking about her insightful lyrics yet), Marita Connolly is a voice to be reckoned with.
