Dylan Rynhart
I have been writing seriously for about five years, though I have always written music. I write for and run FUZZY LOGIC ENSEMBLE a ten piece jazz orchestra, though in the last few years I have received various other commissions for both Jazz and contemporary classical music and also film and theatre.
In October 2005 I was awarded The Guinness Cork Jazz Festivals “Best young Irish Jazz Artist? award, this was the inaugural year for this award and it was presented by BBC Radio Producer Keith Loxam and Jazz Legends; David Amram and Jon Faddis.
In the Irish Examiner, December 2005 I was voted 26th in a list of the top 50, most influential people in the Irish music scene. The reason that was given for my inclusion in this list was, “Exceptional young talent“.
I can't really describe my music because i find it difficult to step back sometimes, but i have received some reviews, so I’ll include them here
Fuzzy Logic Ensemble
FUZZY LOGIC ENSEMBLE is probably the most ambitious jazz group currently based in Ireland. With 10 of the finest young Jazz and Classical artists from Ireland and England coming together to perform the music of composer Dylan Rynhart.
Since it was formed in 2002, this hard working group that has developed a style of their own, setting them apart from most Jazz bands with the flexibility and sonority of their unique instrumentation, and the orchestral harmony and rhythmic Balkan influence obvious in their music. Comparisons have been made to the music of Thad Jones and Kenny Wheeler.
