Bio

Siobhan (pronounced Shiv-awn) hails from Limerick, Ireland. She has been entertaining audiences with her individual, unique voice,and style of songwriting her whole life. Siobhan made her first audio recording at the tender age of six, with an old Burl Ives sea shanty. Years later, her first solo album, Mumbo Jumbo, received critical acclaim all over Ireland. Her second album, Like a Habit, charted ..4 in the Irish Indie charts. She has just completed her third album, Cats Eyes. She debuted Cats Eyes on a recent tour of Ireland (with The Young Dubliners), in Oct/Nov 05. Siobhan comes from four generations in the music industry. Most notably, she is the niece of 60s legend, Brendan Bowyer (www.Brendanbowyer.com), and is currently being managed by his daughter, Aisling. Siobhans father, Brian OBrien, retired this year from his position as Manager of the Irish National Rugby Team. Siobhan has the lyric style of Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan , whilst caressing a lyric with sophisticated simplicity. She has an untouched voice and has been compared to Joan Baez, Sarah McLaughlin, and Sheryl Crow. Bob Dylan invited her to join him on stage. She has supported groups and acts such as: Christy Moore, Donavan, Maria McKee, and many more. Siobhan has a voice that many have described as enchanting. One critic saw a performance in Ireland, and had this to say: tonight I saw Siobhan OBrien for free in Docs, tomorrow I would pay 50 Euros. She blew my mind away. WHAT IS NEXT FOR SIOBHAN OBRIEN?
