Artist
Emma Cunningham
Emma Cunningham is a 24-year-old singer/songwriter from Glasnevin in Dublin.
Listing artists such as Morrissey, Emmylou Harris, The Divine Comedy and Suede amongst her influences, she has been writing lyrics and singing songs since the age of twelve and has been gigging regularly on the Dublin circuit for the past four years.
In this time she has played regularly in venues such as The Hub, Whelans, The Haâ??penny Inn, The Exchequer Bar, the Isaac Butt, and Slatteryâ??s of Capel Street. She has performed both as part of open mic sessions, as an opening act for local bands, and in her own right at her own headlining gigs.
Live, Emmaâ??s set comprises mostly of original material with a few well-chosen cover versions (from such unlikely bedfellows as Elliott Smith, Pulp, Sam Browne and Tim Buckley). Second only to her vocal and songwriting talent, is Emmaâ??s knack of taking someone elseâ??s song and making it her own.
