The One Where the Ingallas Girls get New Shoes. The Race S3 Ep 3

Determined to win the Third annual Hero Township horserace, Laura gets part time employment with local Blacksmith, Hans Dorfler, to help pay for some new horseshoes for Bunny. Hearing the news and always trying to out do Laura, Nellie Oleson along with Mother, Harriet Oleson, scheme to get Nellie that first place. With a new thoroughbred entering the race, the contestants drop from 7 to 2 and you can only guess who those jockeys are. While Laura continues to play fair, train Bunny, manage her part time job as well her homework and household chores, Nellie decides (actually, Harriet) that Willie should take over as the rider in the horserace. Some early morning Gastrointestinal issues, the morning of the big race, has Laura riding Bunny to fetch Doc Baker to save Willie and exhausting Bunny because of it, leading to Laura being apprehensive about the race. Even if it means she would have to forfeit. Bunny, has other plans, and with her favorite human on her back Bunny is determined to prove you don't need racing papers to win a race. When was the last time Charles was on screen without his shirt on? Why Doesn't Hans Drofler double the blacksmith shop as a Saloon? For claiming to be a know-it-all, why is Harriet always being played by Nellie?
