Energy Vampire #2 - DEHYDRATION: According to multiple reports and government sources, approximately 75% of Americans may suffer from Chronic Dehydration. Since dehydration is rarely recognized in most cases until it becomes severe, the majority of the population remains unconcerned and unresolved about it. Water is lost through normal daily bodily functions such as breathing, talking and urinating. It is also lost through sweat and bowel movements. Dehydration occurs when there is a lack of hydrating beverages taken in or too many non-hydrating beverages are consumed (i.e. caffeinated, alcoholic or drinks high in sodium/sugar)
You should be drinking no less than half your body weight in ounces of water, daily. Example: 128 lbs. in body weight would be 64oz of water per day.
When you are dehydrated, you will experience a reduction in blood volume and thickening of the blood, causing your heart to work harder and less efficiently. In addition, the circulation of oxygen and nutrients is minimized, reducing cell and chemical or hormone restoration. A few symptoms are headaches, fatigue, irritability, difficulty focusing, reduced metabolism and many other success crippling issues.
