History tells us that God exists. Really, it does. And even if you aren’t interested in history, you might be interested in a few quick examples.
At the battle of Gettysburg, when the United States was about to be ripped apart by civil war, General Lee’s attack plans were lost by an officer and found by Union soldiers. This helped turn the tide of the battle, and led to victory and reconciliation of the country later.
For centuries, disease threatened all of Europe. The Black Death wiped out millions. In 1838, a lazy student named Louis Pasteur ran away to Paris, but he became homesick and decided to finish school after all. Later, his breakthroughs in discovery were pasteurization and vaccination, both of which have saved many millions of lives since.
Ecclesiastes 3:11 says, “He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.”
Do we really believe in coincidences in history? Do we really believe Someone all-powerful isn’t watching over us to protect us?
Ecclesiastes tells us that God knows all, and even knows the end from the beginning. You might deny it, but in your heart you know He lives. And because He does, so do you.
Let’s pray. Lord, your provision for us is amazing! We acknowledge you and love you. Amen.
