Mini-Series: ACSM guidelines, Healthy Harvard Plate, and more!
In this episode, Mike talks briefly about the major concepts surrounding the ACSM, American College of Sports Medicine, cardiovascular and resistance training benefits. Along with those, he discusses some of the major variables surrounding the outdated USDA MyPlate and how the Harvard Healthy Plate and the new and improved Myplate for older adults help to provide a better picture of what it means to have a healthy plate.
Mike will be offering a few new style of episodes coming up, ranging from short and sweet like the mini series on the dimensions of health, or more robust episodes similar to lectures. He will discuss carbohydrates, lipids, and proteins like he would if you were taking his nutrition and exercise course at UMF. Mike will bring more discussions around topics pertaining to sport performance, enhanced recovery, pre/during/post training and recovery, and much more.
