Can Endometriosis Be Controlled By Diet? | Your Body In Balance
Can endometriosis be treated by changing your diet?
In the fourth episode of the special “Your Body In Balance” series, you’ll hear from Katherine Lawrence Ireland whose surgeon stopped a hysterectomy mid-procedure after discovering that her endometriosis had improved so dramatically that it had practically vanished. Doctors called it a miracle, but Katherine believed it was because she changed her diet weeks earlier.
So how could this have happened? Was it really the new foods that she had been eating that caused her endometriosis to improve?
“The Weight Loss Champion” Chuck Carroll welcomes Dr. Neal Barnard to the show get the answers. Dr. Barnard explains the nutrition science of why that “miracle” occurred in the operating room. He also details how a diet that is heavy on meat and dairy, but light on fruits and vegetables, can cause hormonal issues and fuel endometriosis.
It was a condition that nearly robbed Katherine of the opportunity to have children. Today, she is the proud mom of three boys!
Katherine has also devoted her life to helping others leading healthier lives as well. She is the founder of Food Saved Me where she imparts her wisdom and knowledge though a series of classes in the Dallas, Texas area.
Her story is just one of the many amazing transformations featured in Dr. Barnard’s new book, Your Body In Balance.
