Leigh William Steinberg (born March 27, 1949) is an American sports agent. During his 41-year career, he has represented over 300 professional athletes in football, baseball, basketball, boxing, and Olympic sports.
Leigh has successfully negotiated over $3 billion in contracts for players, including Troy Aikman, Steve Young, and Ryan Leaf, and has represented the No. 1 overall pick in the NFL draft a record eight times.
Many consider Leigh as the real-life inspiration for the sports agent from Cameron Crowe's 1996 film, Jerry Maguire. He has also helped and been a consultant on different movies such as Jerry Maguire, Any Given Sunday, and For the Love of the Game.
