057: Life Before My Big Comeback with Liz Israel
Life Before The Big Comeback
You may have heard this enough times but it's worth mentioning. Competing is a race. But you should stick to your own path, and run at your own pace. For this reason, goal setting is critical when deciding to engage in the sport. It's quite important to have an end result specific to what you want to eventually achieve. By setting clearly defined goals, you will never feel as if you're adrift. You will also never get a point where a need to compare yourself with others is necessitated. This simply means when you engage the right gear from the word go, you will have it easy irrespective of the outcome. So how do you define your path? Let's find out with Liz Yisrael.
Liz Yisrael is a Logistics Manager at Target responsible for coordinating the transportation and delivery of goods. The former US Army officer is an IFBB Bikini Pro and earned her pro card at the 2016 NPC Pittsburgh Championship where she was announced the Overall Bikini Winner. As soon as she turned pro, she stepped on the highly competitive Olympia stage where she scooped 11th spot. Competing since 2012, Liz has over six years competing experience under her belt. As a competitor, her goal is to make a comeback on stage after having her baby and win another pro show.
In this episode, Liz tells us a little bit about her pregnancy journey as a competitor. She also will tell us why you should not compare yourself to others. Finally, she shares tips on dealing with pressure and fatigue that comes with competing.
