Can stories reveal deeper truths than facts? Novelist Catherine Fox and Biblical theologian Paula Gooder talk about the importance of stories in our lives, in understanding ourselves, our relationships with other people, our faith, and even God.
Exploring their own writing processes in The Lindchester Chronicles and Phoebe: A Story, they talk about the power of good stories to change us, and explore the invitation and challenge of some of their favourite Bible stories including Jonah, the Prodigal Son, and Martha and Mary.
Dr Catherine Fox is the author of the popular Lindchester Chronicles series of novels which she describes as ‘a modern riff on the Barchester Chronicles’, and Senior Lecturer and Academic Director of the Manchester Writing School at Manchester Metropolitan University.
Dr Paula Gooder is Canon Chancellor at St Paul’s Cathedral and a leading Biblical scholar. Her recent books include The Parables and Phoebe: A Story.
