This morning in devotions I came across the verse in Psalm 22:14 where it was written, "I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint: my heart is like wax; it is melted in the midst of my bowels." As I was reading on I felt tug on my heart to go back and read only those words, "my heart is like wax; it is melted..." The Holy Spirit began to enlighten my eyes, and to know and understand something I never thought of.
I wrote them down in my Bible and I will write them here, just as I heard it.
"It is a more descriptive thing to say, My heart is melted," rather than the common norm of, "He died from a broken heart." No, it is a far more deeper, and greater thing to have a melted heart than a broken one. A broken one can be mended, but a melted heart flows away, out and downward. Never to be gathered again." Just like water poured out upon the dry ground." I
was then brought to Isaiah 53:12, "For He poured out His soul unto death."
Again I heard these words, "Anything that melts pours out. His Blood poured out, His life poured out and down. His melted heart poured down and out for you and me. Now Lord melt my heart for you. Melt it down. Let me pour out my soul in me. Like yours for me, but now for you. And let me teach others to do so. Let this be my call."
Let this prayer be yours too. Ask the Lord to melt your heart, as "the mountains melt like wax before the Lord, before the Lord of all the earth." When He does, your heart will lose it's shape and form, and be molded into another heart. A heart like the Lords, and a heart like the Father's where only love abounds forever.
"He said "Love...as I have loved you." We cannot love too much." ~Amy Carmichael
