Mark Schultz - How to Write Songs that Deeply Impact People, Advice to Young Artists, and How to Use Your Platform to Make a Difference
Mark Schultz is a Christian artist who has sold over one milllion records and been nominated for multiple awards. He has had over 13 No. 1 Singles in his lifetime and has raised millions of dollars for orphans and crisis pregnancy centers all over the country. I was first introduced to his music through my wife and her family in the early 2000s. During that time, my wife's mom was diagnosed with and ended up dying of cancer, and Mark’s music played a huge role in helping us all make it through that process. We still listen to Mark’s music, and it still has a major impact on our life.
Today, Mark joins me to share his story. He talks about his process for songwriting and shares his advice for young artists. He offers his thoughts on adoption and shares his experience with it as both an adopted child and an adoptive parent. He talks about how to be all in and how you can use your platform to make a difference, and he answers whether he cries when songwriting. He discusses the power of stepping out of your comfort zone and talks about the role of humor in his life.
“The people who made the biggest impact in my life were the ones who said, ‘I’m in.’”
