Is There an Overtraining Problem in Gymnastics Culture?
Today on the podcast, is an interview I was asked to do with Temple Landry, who was an Elite Gymnast from Twin City Twisters in Minnesota and is heading to Stanford in a few years to compete. She approached me with a project she is doing for her English class and was interested in finding out more about the differences in the approaches to overtraining in gymnastics. It ended up being a really awesome discussion, she had some fantastic questions which is why I wanted to put it up as a podcast and share it for everyone.
TEMPLE ASKED; How much do you think overtraining and injury correlate?
How much training versus strength and conditioning should gymnasts do?
What would your ideal Offseason training look like?
What do you think is a normal amount of time to train for gymnasts?
And…
The 10,000 Hour Rule?
