93. Dave and Kirsten Samuel: A Brand New Marriage...With The Same Spouse!
Welcome to episode #93!
In this episode, Matt and Braden continue to chat with sexual betrayal coaches, Dave and Kirsten Samuel, who are making a major impact.
Healing cant be fast-tracked
Once the pathway to healing is determined (accountability, support, counselling etc), it cant be rushed or taken for granted. It takes a consistent effort and a commitment to the process as a couple, as well as a daily surrender to God to bring healing and reconciliation. Dave and Kirsten had to give up much of their past life for a season, with a commitment to sacrifice, so that their future lives together would be possible as a married couple.
Healing is a process - not a destination
We never fully "arrive" when it comes to healing, as it is an ongoing process. We need to submit to that realization and allow God to work in our hearts for every season of life. We will always be growing and learning if we ask God to work in our lives. For married couples we need to be learning and growing in our marriage as well! Even if we feel like past trauma is in the past, healing the marriage is ongoing.
There is hope!!
No matter how bad it seems, or if porn has completely eroded intimacy, there is hope. Dave and Kirsten chose each other and chose God, and even though it was really hard, God gave them a brand new marriage!
