• Disclaimer:

1. We are only discussing the Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty previews up to 1.30.2020.
2. Ryan has little to no knowledge of the previewed cards and I have picked 15 of what I believe are the best cards from the set so far for us to see Ryan’s reaction to and discuss.

• Reconfigure

1. Both Artifact Creatures and Equipment
2. Pay reconfigure cost at sorcery speed to attach the equipment to a creature, move it to another creature, or unnattach for it to be an artifact creature again.

• Modifications

1. Equipment, auras you control, and counters are modifications, which can impact different ways modifications can interact with specific cards. For instance, one card (Goro-Goro, a Legendary Creature) can create a 5/5 red Dragon Spirit creature token with flying for 3 colorless mana and two mountains. You can only activate this if you control an attacking modified creature. As a side note, it’s auras you control.

• Dual Faced Sagas

• Ninjitsu

1. Ninjutsu allows a Ninja to sneak onto the battlefield from your hand tapped and attacking. To activate a ninjutsu ability, reveal the card with ninjutsu from your hand and pay the ninjutsu cost. Then, choose an unblocked attacking creature you control and return it to its owner's hand. Remember that an attacking creature is unblocked only after blockers have been declared. If an attacking creature is blocked, but all its blockers are removed before combat damage is dealt, the attacking creature is still blocked, so you can't return that creature to activate a ninjutsu ability.

 

1. The Ninja will enter the battlefield tapped and attacking the same player or planeswalker the returned creature was attacking. Blockers have already been declared this combat, so the Ninja should have a clear path to deal combat damage. Technically, you can activate ninjutsu during the combat phase after combat damage has been dealt. This won't normally come up, but if your attacking creature has first strike, there are some tricks to be had.
