Welcome to episode #94!
In this episode, Matt and Braden share their experiences about unplugging from technology, along with some stats
Unplugging technology and intimacy with God often go together
Braden started off 2022 with a break from social media and immediately felt more at peace and more sensitive to God's presence and leading. When Matt had to take Facebook off of his phone in order to save space, he found he didn't even think about the app for days. It was only when it was in his face that he went on it. Removing certain technology from our lives clears up room in our minds to focus more on God and other much more important things in life.
We touch our phones 150 times/day
So many of us are so attached to our phones that we automatically reach for it when we feel uncomfortable. When we're bored or waiting for an appointment, we touch our phones. When we're wanting excitement, we grab our phones.
Studies show that this is a habit that the average American does 150 times per day, but what if we cut that number in down by turning to God instead? What if we learned to turn to God 150 times per day? We would benefit by having more peace, joy, and purpose, but others would benefit too by God leading us to pay attention to the needs of other people instead of scrolling mindlessly on our devices.
What do you need to do?
There is action that we can all take to unplug a little bit more in our lives. What action do you need to take today? What will the benefits be of unplugging in your life?
