Kiri Allan replaced Jacinda Ardern as New Zealand’s youngest Cabinet minister at the 2020 Election, and shortly after was widely praised as Minister for Emergency Management when the threat of a damaging tsunami menaced the country.
Her early entry into politics started while studying law and politics at Victoria University during which she worked in an internship with then-Prime Minister Helen Clark
She went on to work for a period at law firm Chen Palmer then as a commercial lawyer before becoming an MP.
