Episode 0030 - MLK, War, Liberty and Revolution
Martin Luther King, Jr. was an enormous figure in the Civil Rights movement in America, but he was also very critical of the war, in favor of liberty for all people everywhere in the World. The war of his day was happening in Vietnam and Dr. King was very critical of America in this conflict. Dr. King came under tremendous pressure for his views on the Vietnam War, and I believe, he was ultimately assassinated for his criticism of the American government in this conflict. Exactly one year before his assassination at the Lorraine Motel in Memphis, Tennessee, he gave this speech at Riverside Church in New York. Join me as we examine the speech and comment on Dr. King's view and the relevance to what we are experiencing in America today.
