Ep100 - No luck against Irish, exclusive Joe Joyce interview and a look ahead to Sixways
In this special bumper edition of BBTG we celebrate our 100th episode of the podcast.
The team hadn't read the script and instead of having a glorious victory to review, we try to make sense of the 32-49 home defeat against London Irish. How did we go from a halftime lead to conceding 39 unanswered points in half an hour! And then with 14 men we score three tries in the last five minutes. A crazy, crazy game.
Hear our thoughts on the match, the Naulago red card, Mr Ridley's refereeing along with our perspective on individual performances.
To celebrate our century of shows we talked to the King of Southmead. In a wide-ranging interview Joe tells us how the club has evolved since he joined, the night we won the Challenge Cup in France as well as his rugby ambitions.
We also talk about Vui's new four-year deal, the departure of Groves and the arrival of student hooker Fred Davies next year. There's also our reflections on Randall's first Six Nations start for England, Sinckler's late try in Rome and Sheedy's cameo appearance for Wales against Ireland.
We finish off with our memories and high points from our 100 episodes. A longer pod than normal, but well worth a listen.
