Hormonally Yours with The Hormone Dietitian
Health & Fitness:Nutrition
As an integrative and functional women’s health dietitian, part of my job is to figure out the root cause(s) of my patients’ symptoms. In many cases, I find that hormone imbalances and symptoms can be directly linked to less than optimal blood sugar levels and what it’s doing to their bodies. In fact, balancing blood sugar is a foundational strategy for most people. Today’s episode is all about biology and how blood sugar affects women’s hormones. Once we understand what blood sugar is and how it affects the hormones in our body, we can start to find solutions and feel more balanced.
In this episode, we’ll talk about the basics of carbohydrate metabolism, the ways blood sugar affects hormones, how to evaluate for blood sugar issues, and how to balance blood sugar with nutrition and lifestyle.
