On this episode of the Adventures of Pipeman, Pipeman is joined by rock royalty and piano & keyboard legend Rick Wakeman. Rick was recently named the commander of the order of the British Empire by Queen Elizabeth II.
Rick talks about how he comes up with new music after all these years, and even he doesn’t know how he does it. He talks about how inspiration can hit him out of nowhere and often he can go months without any ideas
Pipeman talks about how he would steal his brothers records to listen to. First was the Yes album called Fragile. Rick talks about some of his recollections of that album, as Pipeman shares he believes the musicianship of that time was something else
Pipeman asks about Rick’s upcoming tour, The Even Grumpier Old Rock Star Tour, the name of which came from his originally titled tour of the Grumpy Old Rock Star Tour, but it continued to be cancelled due to Covid. Rick feels he has had 2 years of his musical life taken from him and he talks about his struggle during this time. Rick is a people person. He loves meeting new people at shows. So taking shows away was bad. You can connect on all social media platforms.
Rick has gigs coming up in a multitude of states which you can find all the information you need over on his website at rwcc.com
