Chris Carpenter pitched 15 years in the major leagues, winning the Cy Young award in 2005 and a World Series championship in 2006 and 2011 with the St. Louis Cardinals. He was also selected for the All-Star Game three times, and in 2009 he won National League Comeback Player of the Year in 2009 in a season where he was also the league leader in earned run average.
