If the Trail Blazers plan for the stretch run of the season is to lose, consider Thursday night a mission accomplished as Portland was throttled, 132-95, by the Golden State Warriors. Anfernee Simons had a monster first half and that was about all that went right for the Blazers, who played a bunch of rookies and newcomers in a loss to one the NBA's best teams.
Speaking of newcomers Drew Eubanks -- aka the Shaq of Troutdale -- got the start in his Blazers debut and rookie Keon Johnson also saw his first minutes with Portland. Those two along with quasi-newcomer Brandon Williams got extended run in the loss to Golden State and it's worth spending some time unpacking what we saw from that trio on Thursday.
This is yet another challenge for Chauncey Billups in his bizarre and rocky first season as an NBA head coach. Billups talked pregame about how he'll approach the remainder of this season and how he feels like he has coached "three different rosters" already this season.
