S2E1: Dietary Patterns and Lifestyle Factors [with Prof Paul O'Toole]
In this podcast episode, we are joined by Professor Paul O’Toole, who is a Professor of Microbial Genomics at University College Cork in Ireland. His main research area is the gut microbiome in humans, where he has participated in several projects that examine the composition and function of the gut microbiota, its interaction with habitual diet, and its relationship to health, and ageing. He co-ordinated the ELDERMET study, a project that established diet-microbiota health interactions in the elderly. Here he shares how dietary patterns and lifestyle factors may impact the gut microbiota and health.
