The surprising reason for your back and hip pain (not visible on an x-ray)
Have a question? Click here.
Get ready for the most laughs you have ever encountered in a conversation about pelvic floor health.
And if you think you just need to do kegels to strengthen your pelvic floor, you definitely need to keep listening. Also - did you know your back and hip pain may be due to your pelvic floor?
Many women experience tightness and discomfort in their back, groin, and hips after childbirth. Seeking help, they turn to their doctor - only to be told it is a mild case of some orthopedic issue or that their x-rays look good. But then, the pain continues to worsen, forcing women to continue to modify their habits to accommodate the pain. Their pelvic floor and core continue to get weaker, and pain prevents these women from exercising, enjoying intimacy, and living their fullest life. And, even though you may be in your 40s, 50s or beyond, you may still be experiencing the side effects from this.
Jenn Lormand and Christina Walsh join the show today to get real about pelvic floor health, and nothing is off limits in this conversation!
Jenn Lormand is an Exercise Physiologist, Author, and mom of three living and thriving with Stage 2 prolapse. Christina Walsh is a Physical Therapist specializing in Integrative Manual Therapy and mom of two living with a rectocele. They have a combined 36 years of professional experience and have helped thousands of women stop peeing their pants, ditch back pain, & have better sex. They are published medical researchers in the Journal of Women’s Health Physical Therapy, where they proved that women can heal without kegels or inserting anything into their “nether-regions.”
