Troubling new developments in Ukraine as Russian bombs, shells and missiles hit heavily-populated areas. A 40-mile long convoy of Russian military vehicles is on the move north of Kyiv. The U.N. estimates more than 660,000 people have fled the country because of the fighting. The Russian invasion will be a big issue in President Biden's State of the Union address tonight. A CBS News poll, out this morning, finds Americans also have other issues on their minds. The poll shows the president's overall approval rating is 44%. It's primary day in Texas -- the first test for the GOP's restrictive new voting law. It's the last day of Mardi Gras, and the city has let the good times roll -- unlike last year, when COVID restrictions cancelled the city's Mardi Gras parades for the first time in 42 years.
