In the 1940s, the scenic Hills and Dales MetroPark in Kettering, Ohio added an observation tower, built to look like the turret of a fortress. It became a lure for mischief makers who vandalized it and partied around it. But allegations that it's haunted come from the very real tragedy of a girl who was struck and killed by lightning after turning to the tower for shelter from a storm.
