Pain From the Past: Why Scars Actually Hurt More (Physically) As We Age and How Frequency Medicine Can Help
Thanks for tuning in to the Armor Men’s Health Hour Podcast today, where we bring you the latest and greatest in urology care and the best urology humor out there.
In this segment, NAU Urology Specialists' longtime friend and former pelvic floor physical therapist Dr. Angela Treadway talks about painful scars...that is, the physical pain caused by scarred tissue that can develop and worsen long after the wound has healed. Scars necessarily adhere to what's around them during the healing process--that's how they stop bleeding and permanently close up our wounds. But as we (and our skin) age, scars actually contract, pulling on everything around them as they shrink. The bigger and deeper a scar is, the more tissue is affected by this shrinkage. Depending on the location of the scar tissue, patients can experience new or worsening pain as time goes on due to the movement of tissue. In her new practice, Dr. Treadway uses functional and frequency medicine that harnesses the power of frequencies to heal the body. One tool she uses to treat scar tissue is the Dolphin Neurostim, a device which gets its name from the high pitched squealing sound it makes once it's honed in on certain points in the body that benefit from stimulation. By promoting cell metabolism and reviving blood supply to dead tissue, the Dolphin Neurostim can soften scarred skin, thereby relieving the painful tension it puts on nearby areas. If you or someone you love is experiencing new or worsening pain in or around an old scar, or if you are interested in learning more about frequency medicine and technologies like the Dolphin Neurostim, please give Dr. Treadway a call! Her practice is located near Seton Main on Medical Parkway. Call 512-851-7070 or online at pelvic-health-solutions.com. You can also email pelvicfloordpt@gmail.com with questions.
