Eddie Hearn: No Passion, No Point
Society & Culture:Personal Journals
One of the World’s best-known sports promoters Eddie Hearn chats to some of the biggest names in sport, entertainment and business, including Rio Ferdinand, Barry Hearn and Amelia Dimoldenberg. He’ll learn about their passions, what gets them up in the morning, and how they built their successful careers.
This week, Eddie’s arrives in Dallas, Texas ahead of Canelo Alvarez's bout with Billy Joe Saunders amidst controversy and drama, so Eddie wants to chat to both of the boxers before the defining fights of their careers, so far.
Saunders is up first, and chats to Eddie about his prep and expectations for the fight, and how his family and community give him the motivation to make him the fighter he is.
Eddie then catches up with Canelo to get the view from the other corner. They discuss growing up in Guadalajara, what boxing means to Mexican and how long he's planning to stay in the sport.
And to cap off a crazy fight week, the 'Gypsy King' Tyson Fury drops in to chat about the most anticipated fight of the year against Eddie’s main man, Anthony Joshua.
No Passion, No Point is produced by Gwyn Rhys Davies, and is a BBC Studios Production for BBC Radio 5 Live. Listen now on BBC Sounds.
