3/9: Humanitarian crisis grows in Ukraine. The first rioter tried over January 6th is found guilty.
We're bearing witness to a humanitarian crisis -- on the Ukraine border. Things are especially dire right now in the coastal city of Mariupol, Ukraine. People lack essentials like water, heat and working sewage systems. "Humanitarian corridors" have been set up around the country -- to try to get them out. And yesterday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the British parliament. The U.S. is resisting a new effort to give Ukraine something it badly needs -- more fighter jets. More than two million refugees have fled Ukraine in the last two weeks. President Biden's newest move to counter Russian aggression is a ban on importing oil and natural gas from Russia. Members of Congress from both parties support the move, even though it will push up record-high gas prices in the U.S. The first person to go to trial on charges from the assault on the Capitol has been convicted on all counts.
