The Abduction of Daniel Morcombe

Daniel James Morcombe was a happy 13-year old boy living in the Sunshine Coast Region of Queensland, Australia, when he disappeared and his family’s life was irrevocably changed. It was Sunday, December 7, 2003, when Daniel walked less than a mile to catch a bus to the Sunshine Plaza Shopping Centre, where he planned to buy Christmas gifts for his family.

Daniel had made this trip before.  He was responsible and independent.  But that day, the expected bus broke down and its replacement passed by Daniel.  In the three minutes between that bus and another on its way, Daniel was abducted.  Passersby would remember seeing Daniel interacting with an unidentified man.

Join us at the quiet end for The Abduction of Daniel Morcombe.  Losing Daniel was a crushing blow to his parents, but their pain was worsened by the knowledge that Daniel had died at the hands of a twice-convicted pedophile. Still, the Morcombes have dedicated the remainder of their lives to protecting other children with The Daniel Morcombe Foundation.
