Rev. Bryan Wolfmueller, pastor of St. Paul and Jesus Deaf Lutheran Church in Austin, TX joins host Rev. Brady Finnern to study Matthew 11:20-30.
Jesus calls people to repentance (contrition for sin and faith in Him). His works in Chorazin and Bethsaida were done to blind eyes and Jesus does not want them to be led to judgment. His preaching of the Law is vital to our souls so that we know our sins that Jesus has saved us from. He preaches this repentance to us while we are in His loving embrace. He invites to Himself and in faith, we are able to rest in His gracious love. We are yoked to Him and instead of me having to do half the work, but He does all the work of salvation by His blood. “Just as I am, without one plea; But that Thy blood was shed for me; and that Thou bidd’st me come to Thee, O Lamb of God, I come, I come!” (Lutheran Service Book #570 st. 1, Just as I Am).
