Get ready for what you asked for

Have you ever asked God for something, hoping he would give it to you just because you asked? My passion is to help women, but my weakness is speaking in public. Whenever there was an opportunity to talk in front of others, I would either decline or be so nervous that I would fumble over my words and talk fast. One morning, I heard a word from God that said, "Stay ready, so you do not have to get ready," but I wasn't sure what that meant. Then, later on, I was listening to Sarah Jakes Roberts, and her podcast episode was about staying ready, so you do have to get ready and prepare for what you are asking for.
