042 - Jamie Keaton | You Don’t Have to Be Nice, Sink the F*cking Ship
On today's episode we sit down with Jamie Keaton. Jamie's experience as a Black and non-binary actor, singer, musician, and spoken word poet has been defined by a passion for intersectional feminism, social justice, and advocacy. Jamie asked for us to include these words from Tupac Shakur which are meaningful to Jamie and represent their passion for raising their voice on these topics that are so vitally important.
My momma used to say if you can’t find something to live for you’d best find something to die for. - Tupac Shakur
In this interview Cortland and Meghan chat with Jamie about race, sexuality, purity culture, and white supremacy. Jamie addresses these topics both in evangelicalism and in deconstruction spaces, and how it feels to always be relied on to say the thing and speak up against marginalization, discrimination, and oppression.
