David is a contemporary artist who creates sculptures, installations and archetectural experiences that usher the participant into deeper awareness of themselves, others, and the world we share. David describes the origins and theoretical underpinnings of his passion for art and music as encounters of meaning and awakening, of his practice of creating spaces of comfort as a child. He also speaks about bringing the sky down to earth with his ongoing Skycube series- the latest of which is part of his current artist residency and ongoing exhibition activating the 60 acres surrounding Mies van der Rohe’s internationally celebrated mid-century glass home: the Edith Farnsworth House in Plano, IL. Through these encounters of gentle disorientation, David draws participants into intimacy with our own embodied selves as a tender grounding place for beholding one another and the spaces we inhabit. I am delighted to share this expansive conversation offering an invitation into wonder and the intimacy of interrelational beholding.
