Death Of His Police Partner, And Cumulative Trauma Caused Him To Spiral Out Of Control.
The Traumas Of His Law Enforcement And Military Service Became Too Much When His Police Partner Was Killed. Work With Horses Saved His Life And Gave Him A New Mission To Help Others.
His Police Officer Partner, a rookie that he was responsible for training was killed while responding to a call to back him up. When he saw his partner's lifeless body, combined with a failing marriage, and all the cumulative trauma, it took an immediate toll on him. From that point on, he began to spiral out of control, self medicating to excess with alcohol and other destructive behaviors. Over a period of time he began to have suicidal thoughts which came to a point when he tried to take his own life. Thanks to a handgun failure he was not successful.
After some time and seeking help, he became involved in caring for horses thanks to a new girlfriend. The horses helped him turn his life around and now he uses his experience to help others with his podcast and much more.
