Were lockdowns pointless after all?

In the third of Medical Minefield's investigations into the key scientific conclusions that informed the Government's response to the pandemic, Barney and Eve consider the benefits of lockdowns and to what extent they worked to limit the toll of the virus. They speak with Professor Mark Woolhouse, experts in infectious disease epidemiology at the University of Edinburgh, who is certain that lockdowns did more harm than good, and Stephen Griffin, professor of medicine at Leeds University, who says our death toll would have been far worse if we'd ‘done a Sweden' – and not locked down at all.
