Whispers Radio October 19, 2010 Dan Gordon and Randy Rogers
Tonight on Whispers we welcome Dan Gordon and Randy Rogers to the show. Dan Gordon first experienced the magic of Fenway in the summer of 1975 when his father took him to his first game. With a Thomas J. Watson Fellowship, Gordon studied global baseball culture in Japan, the Domincan Republic, Cuba and Nicaragua. His writings on baseball have appeared in the Providence Journal, Fort Worth Star, San Juan Star, NINE, Elysian Fields Quarterly and Scribners Encyclopedia of American Lives. He contributed two chapters to an edited book on global baseball, Baseball without Borders: The International Pastime (University of Nebraska Press, November 2006). Gordon recently published the popular Cape Encounters: Contemporary Cape Cod Ghost Stories, which has sold more than 10,000 copies in its first year in print, successfully tapping into the enormous national interest in ghost stories. He lives and dies with the Red Sox. His new book, Field of Screams: Haunted Tales from the Baseball Diamond, the Locker Room, and Beyond, continues to look at the hauntings and legends of America's past time. Randy Rogers is the president of Telefilm, Inc., a Los Angeles-based production company handling the promotion of Hollywood blockbusters like The Matrix, Harry Potter, Pearl Harbor, Batman, Superman, Shrek and Indiana Jones. His book, The Key of Life: A Metaphysical Investigation is a gripping, true story about who we are, why we are here and how we are all connected.
