Little Ginny Clarke is elated, not only was it her suggestion for performing plays at school accepted but she is also invited to the Oleson's parlor for rehearsals. Ginny can't wait to share the news with Harold Mayfield, a local widower who happens to see what a giving person Ginny is, and Ginny's mom, who doesn't't seem to have any time in her life for anyone including Ginny.  As the premiere date approaches, Ginny's one wish is for her mom to see her debut.  And in a moment of life imitating art, Ginny makes a bold move to get her mom and Mr. Mayfield to attend the plays.
