Episode 33: Major League (with Jerry Blevins of Shea Station)
It's an Opening Day Weekend celebration today on Soundtracker, and I'm joined by former MLB pitcher, current podcaster, and film lover Jerry Blevins (@jerryblevins) to talk about one of the all-time great comedies: MAJOR LEAGUE. In this episode we talk baseball movies in general, what this movie gets right (both in terms of Jerry's personal experience playing and our experiences as Ohioans with how bad the Indians actually were in the 1980s), how much we love the city of Cleveland, how we got into the baseball teams we like, terrible TV edits, and the surprisingly good soundtrack. Oh and yes, there is some FIELD OF DREAMS talk. Check it out. Now if you'll excuse me, I've got a guy on the other line about some whitewalls.
