This week we are chatting to Dr Caitlin Northern about all things Periods. Caitlin is a GP and partner in a practice in Napier. She studied at Otago University in Dunedin, did her clinical years in Christchurch hospital before moving to Hawkes Bay. Caitlin then spent three years working at Hastings Hospital after graduating, and completed a postgraduate certificate in women's health during a six month placement in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. We chat about our cycles, what is a 'normal' period, PCOS, how to manage heavy and painful periods and what you can expect when your period returns postpartum.
