Adenomyosis - The Quiet Relative of Endometriosis? | Episode 53
Adenomyosis is a condition in which the inner lining of the uterus (the endometrium) breaks through the muscle wall of the uterus (the myometrium) contributing to painful symptoms. And whilst the symptoms can be loud, it is often missed, not talked about or dismissed which is we are coining it the "quiet relative of endometriosis" on today's episode of the Fertility Friendly Food Podcast. April is Adenomyosis Awareness Month 🎗️ so we wanted to spotlight this condition that about 1 in 10 experience.

Adenomyosis is a condition that needs more awareness, more funding, and more research. In today's episode of the pod, Accredited Practicing Dietitian Stefanie Valakas chats on a number of topics including the difference between adenomyosis and endometriosis, the common treatment options for adenomyosis, the research (or lack of!) managing symptoms with nutrition, and the effects of adenomyosis on fertility.
