144: Part One: Prayer for Easter

Hello. This is Pat Willie, the founder, and CEO of the not-for-profit ministry, The Gathering. When women gather, when women worship. Thanks for joining us for this podcast, the two-minute prayer. I believe that prayer is essential. It is life-giving and life-sustaining, and it only takes just a minute to pray.

 

This is a two-part prayer for Easter. And when the Sabbath was passed, Mary Magdalene and Mary, the mother of James and Salome had brought sweet spices that they may come and anoint Jesus. And very early in the morning, the first day of the week, they came onto the tomb at the rising of the sun. And they said among themselves, Who shall roll away the stone from the door of the tomb. And when they look, they saw that the stone was rolled away. For it was very great. And entering to the tomb they saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed in a long white garment and they were afraid. And he said unto them, be not afraid. You seek Jesus of Nazareth. He was crucified. He risen. He is not here. Behold, the place where they laid him.

 

Father God, in the name of Jesus, we give you glory and honor and praise and we worship your name. We thank you that you are our risen savior. You are alive in us and because of your deaf barrier and resurrection, we have eternal life through our faith in you, Christ Jesus. And God we thank you for the power of resurrection. It is alive in us. You are alive in us. You have given us a reason to live. We're grateful. We experienced resurrection in every part of our lives. You are the one that makes all things new. You're the one that brings dead things back to life.

 

So we thank you that you're resurrecting our minds, our thoughts. You're renewing our minds and our thoughts. You're giving us a new heart. You're teaching us to forgive. You're resurrecting our body. You're giving us help. You're healing us. For the power of resurrection, we're grateful today, and we honor you for it in Jesus' name. Amen.
