Ash Reiter (Sugar Candy Mountain)

Welcome to Roadcase!!  We're extra-hyped to have Ash Reiter of Sugar Candy Mountain on this special 4/20 edition of the show.  As an appropriate acknowledgement to today's date, Ash, along with her husband and musical partner, Will Halsey, are together the driving force behind this trippy, space-age psychedelic pop band that will melt your soul as well as your mind. While the vibe sounds recalls acid-soaked Beatles and Tame Impala, the impetus is more about the infinite possibilities of the creative mind. It's also about the tonal and overall musical surprises more than achieving a level of psychedelia as an end in itself. While the mood is trippy and fun, the music is superbly crafted with lovely, singable melodies. The duo are also parents of young children and Ash is looking forward to taking the entire family on the road starting in May. Their latest album, Impression, is more evidence of their wide-ranging musical influences (Brazilian band, Os Mutantes, for example) as well as the sweeping and lush soundscapes of their psychedelic-influenced vibes.  So hop on the Roadcase Bus and learn more about Ash Reiter -- the Mom and musician.
