Bizarre Adventures 27: The Brides of Attuma!... featuring Maria Wolf! With Derek Kunsken
In July 1981, Chris Claremont, John Buscema, and Klaus Janson teamed up to tell the long-awaited origin story of Jean Grey, Marvel Girl, in gorgeous black-and-white. At this point in history, Jean as the Phoenix was believed dead, but her sister Sara Grey visits her grave and thinks back to Jean's childhood. Then we see a story of Jean and Sara fighting Attuma underwater!
This week, Graymalkin Lane does something different... we take a step forward in time to our first Claremont issue in order to give Jean Grey some love! This story, all about trauma, prejudice, and resiliency, is stunning. Chad is joined by the incredible novelist Derek Kunsken (the Quantum Magician) and the powerful and unique cover artist Maria Wolf, who has done jaw-dropping cover work on many characters, including Magik, Thunderbird, Moonstar, and Echo!
