This is a deeply personal, honest and totally compelling story of identity, life and death, how we define success and having the courage to do what's right for yourself.
Looking back at a musician’s back catalogue is endlessly fascinating – well, for me it is! I like seeing the evolution – in style, tempo, lyrics, art. It makes me think about what was going on in their life to influence them to make that music and those record covers and how those influences ebb and flow as our own life does the same.
Manu Garcia is someone who has been developing a musical vision through a diverse range of projects, always with music - in often different guises - as its common bond.
Formerly known as Uner and now, reinvented in more ways than one as NIN3S, Manu is breaking away from the life of Uner, fusing his classical music background with his love of electronica and - excitingly - connecting this to other areas of arts and culture. He’s also founded Orfeo Music Online which is a vision to provide artists with support to manage their career from production to mentoring.
He has just released his latest album, Hopeyard. The album is wonderful – it feels like a storybook of awakening, introspection, healing, optimism and ultimately being as one with the world. You might have already seen the powerful single already released called Khokhoba which features the astonishing vocals of the writer, singer and poet Toshi Tikolo.
