#117: Am I Being Expected to Work Longer Hours at Home? Do I Have A Right to Disconnect From the System? What Are My Rights Here!
Send us a text
Hi there
In this week’s episode, we’re talking about the new normal of employers expecting you to plug into online office meeting systems like Teams… Zoom… Asana… and Go Webinar… as early as possible… and then logging off as late as possible… as a way of proving that you are working hard enough or long enough to be worthy of the salaries you are being paid. And under these testing circumstances, workers are asking whether they have an employment right to disconnect from the services at the end of their contracted working hours.
What we hope you get from this week’s episode, is some recognition that felling unable to disconnect or being required to remain connected to your office online work system outside of your working hours, is a thing, and that’s its wrong - and also, that there are things you can do about these types of bad practices.
Also, you that you can find all our support links at the bottom of the show notes where you’re listening to this podcast episode.
Until next week
