Today's Takeaway with Florine Mark
Health & Fitness:Mental Health
With Kevin Nahai, Motivational Speaker and Personal Coach
Are you a confident person? When you encounter a new situation do you feel confident in your ability to overcome whatever challenges you may face? Or does the thought of meeting new people or being in an unfamiliar situation fill you with dread? When we lack confidence in ourselves, it can undermine every aspect of our lives from our job performance to our social relationships. Of course, it’s not unusual to struggle with self-doubt on occasion, particularly when you’re in an unfamiliar situation, but there is a big difference between the occasional low self-confidence versus lacking self-confidence in everyday situations. Ultimately that chronic lack of self-confidence can jeopardize our ability to make decisions, do simple tasks, and even cause us to question our judgment. As a result, our health and well-being could suffer. When you are plagued by crippling doubt and insecurity to the point where it’s holding you back or preventing you from living a happy and fulfilling life, then it might be time to seek professional help. A trained professional can help you overcome these issues so that you can live your life with confidence and feel more comfortable in your own skin. Simple exercises or techniques can actually help us get to a point where we can be our best; even in unfamiliar situations.
My guest today, Kevin Nahai, is a motivational speaker, personal coach, and mentor. Using his own life experiences and the personal strategies he’s developed to overcome his own challenges, Kevin is now sharing his message and helping others cope with emotional challenges such as anxiety and depression. We talk to Kevin about how to develop confidence and build self-esteem so you can begin living your life to the fullest!
What You’ll Hear on This Episode:
Today’s Takeaway: If you’re suffering from emotional or mental issues that are preventing you from living your best life, it’s important to recognize that these conditions are treatable. Professional help is available. Depression, anxiety, and even crippling self-doubt are all psychological issues that can be overcome with therapy, medication, and a variety of other treatments. But first, you have to become your own best friend instead of your own worst enemy. Would you want someone you love to suffer if professional help was available? Of course not! So don’t sentence yourself to that fate. If you’re struggling, it’s time to step up, help yourself, and then reach out for help. By making the decision to seek the treatment you are already making that all-important first step toward recovery. Remember that every single day is a gift and we owe it to ourselves to do the very best we can to make a rich, fulfilling, and happy life for ourselves. As Kevin says, “Change your thoughts, change your actions, and you will change your life.” I’m Florine Mark and that’s “Today’s Takeaway.”
